Brief Bio
Luca A. Ludovico is a researcher and assistant professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Milan, Italy. He received a Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Milan. Since 2003 he is a member of the Laboratory of Music Informatics of the University of Milan, and his research interests deal with sound and music computing. In particular, his scientific activities focus on multi-layer representation of music information, computational musicology, computer-supported music education and intangible cultural heritage. As a member of the IEEE Technical Committee on Computer Generated Music, he has been one of the main contributors for the standardization of the IEEE 1599 format, and he is currently the vice-chair of the IEEE Working Group for XML Musical Application (WG_1599). Moreover, he is member of CINI Lab for Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems, MIDI Association, and W3C Music Notation Community Group.

SCOPE
The goal of this special session is to investigate the impact of computer-based approaches on music education. Specifically, contributions should focus on the development and use of hardware devices, software, and, more generally, advanced technologies (e.g., new-generation mobile networks, artificial intelligence, etc.) aiming to support music learning/teaching and to improve player’s performance.

After thorough reviewing by the special session program committee, all accepted papers will be published in a special section of the conference proceedings book – under an ISBN reference and on digital support – and submitted for indexation by SCOPUS, Google Scholar, The DBLP Computer Science Bibliography, Semantic Scholar, Microsoft Academic, Engineering Index (EI) and Web of Science / Conference Proceedings Citation Index.
